I'm in California now!

The last two days have been a blur... Vancouver->Seattle->Portland->Woodburn->Salem->Eugene->Medford->Dunnigan

About 14 hours of driving so far without counting the little rest stop/shopping/food detours in between. My parents are amazing. haha

Last Year

So a year ago today I had the opportunity of meeting some of the most fantastical people ever...

It's been a YEAR since CSSSA!
So this will be a massive photo post consisting of a fraction of the photos I took. (I'll upload more elsewhere later) I think it's about time I shared them anyway. :)

How I miss the Pringles Monster!

And in a month it'll have been a year since I last saw you guys! Way overdue for a reunion.

Though I will be in California (San Francisco & LA at the beginning of August...!) and of course in September hehe.

OH! and it's SUMMER! :) And for some reason I'm suddenly really into cooking and baking. (Ratatouille inspired?! haha) I need to be drawing though, but time has been spent mostly on cleaning. My room's in a horrid state and I need to reduce the amount of my possessions before I leave in September.

Yesterday I turned 18 and I had some friends over. :D We napped on the grass, bus-ed to my house, walked, played in the playground, sang, had a mini water gun fight, snacked, had dinner and cake, etc. and had an all around great time. The weather was especially nice too!

I have a Ukulele now! hehe. That should be fun and hopefully it will make me somewhat more musical since the only thing I can soundly play are straws. And I can't believe I got both Wendling books and Chris Sander's Sketchbook. :) Super awesome.

Annnd since I haven't posted art in such a long time... here is the inside cover of my sketchbook. It was started in January, I've been lazy and have been adding to it extremely slowly. Actually, I've been lazy with my sketchbook in general, I still have 17 pages left to fill. :\

Spring!

It's mid April!
Birthday in 4 days.

I've been slaving away on the school yearbook the last couple of weeks, but it's coming to an end tomorrow. Thankfully.

So the funny thing is, I got a letter back from Sheridan with my portfolio scores. Annnd I totally butchered one of the assignments. Basically, I was rejected from Sheridan animation. Haha.

Congratulations to her, Jeff, and everyone else that has recieved the good news! I'm still waiting, waiting, waiting and growing increasingly anxious and scared.

So I got another FedEx package and it's from CCA again- turns out I got the Creative Achievement Award (though one of many I'm sure). They gave me a 4 year $32,000 scholarship; so $8,000 a year. Why does it feel like CCA is treating me so much better than CalArts and yet everything I do I'm doing for CalArts. What an abusive relationship. :(

Spring Break is coming to an end... sigh!

the mountains up north!

Last week was exam week and on Friday there was no school, so my friends and I decided to go skiing! I hadn't gone since two years ago, but it appears that there are just some things we don't forget. Skiing being one of them. Well, actually I snowboarded. I used to ski, but I stopped about 6 or 7 years ago. There was a time when I did both!

The weather was quite fantastical and so was the view- mountains, ocean, and all.

Oh! And I had the opportunity of wearing the Stitch hat I got when I was in DisneyWorld over Christmas/New Year's. I like it quite a lot! One of the chairlift attendents thought they were gremlin ears... but some people knew. :D

I haven't gone to a figure drawing session since mid December... but I'm going tomorrow evening! So that's exciting.

And here's a drawing I did in November, when the model didn't show up. I included it in my portfolio to the holy school of animation... *crosses fingers*
